Christian Revivals
Needing a revival speaks for itself. If such faith were truly motivated by genuine love of God, then there’d be no need for any such revival. So what is it that’s being revived? What is it that’s flagging? What is it that’s threatening to die? And what is it that should be allowed to die - allowed to die a natural death? A fantasy. When a fantasy has run its course, shouldn’t it be allowed to die? Obviously there are those people and spirits in the Christian mind mansion worlds that still need the fantasy to continue.
Having just read Jennifer Rees Larcombe Journey into God’s Heart, a Christian woman’s account of her life’s journey into what she calls God’s Heart, it’s now very clear that we are all the same irrespective of how we live life, just living out different fantasies with no real understanding of what our relationship with God or God’s relationship with us, is actually all about.
And the sheer amount of effort such Christians as Jennifer have to put in, praying for hours a day, always reading the Bible looking for the messages in it as God speaks to them through it, and trying to interpret them and live such commandments. The sheer effort to keep up the falseness and pretence that they know what they doing, that being, what God wants them to do.
And yet it’s no more effort than we all put into our false lives of untruth, whether we’re religious or not, whether ‘asking Jesus into our hearts’ or having no interest in God.
All through the book ‘Jen’ points out quite clearly, that life keeps serving up the potholes that thwart what would otherwise be the perfect life of happiness, and that for some strange reason God is always testing us and we have to work even harder to forgive those who we feel have wronged us, all so we can keep the fantasy ticking along without any cracks in it showing something might not be right after all.
And time and time again it all comes back to the same thing to keep the fantasy alive, all one must do is deny all those bad feelings one keeps being assailed by. The true God-loving Christian who looks like he or she is walking in the presence of God, is someone who is so full of the love for and from God that they never feel bad. They being able to keep all the bad feelings away, or even accept them to a certain degree, but never to allow them to get the better of you; for if you do, then that allows old Satan in, and oh dear god we can’t have that now can we.
But the worst part of it all is Jennifer had very unloving, selfish parents. They were only interested in saving people, being the great ones who brought people to the Lord. They weren’t interested in actually being with and giving their hearts to their children. So all along, the deep buried pain of Jen’s childhood repression keeps trying to show itself, but that is only seen as Satan again trying to take one away from the ‘love of ones parents’, even though it’s quite clear that such love was severely lacking.
So Satan must me having a grand old time, having the last laugh as all these people work so hard to keep him at bay, when all along they fail to understand they are doing exactly what he wants by believing in such a fantasy, trying to live with God in such a way that can only end up being proved to be what it really is - untrue and false: evil.
And all the miraculous healings, Baptisms of the Holy Spirit, God speaking to people and giving messages, talking in tongues, all those strange experiences that God does to show one is on the right track, all to help you keep going down the wrong path should you want to go that way, all because you are still wanting to live denying the whole truth of yourself; which means, the whole truth of your evil, unloving and feeling-denying state.
So like everything to do with religion as we live it, it’s all just another way to as quickly as possible stop ourselves from feeling all those deeply buried bad feelings. Pray them away. Yes, that will solve everything. Then I’ll be all right. Then God will look after me by showing me that I am truly with Him.
And so in the mean time, just deal with your failed relationships the best you can, don’t see that life is about trying to sort out every wrong belief and behaviour you have, all which come up in relationships. Just adjust yourself, fit in the best you can, but don’t dare go into those tricky and difficult places that relationships will unfailingly lead you, should you allow them to. No, don’t do that; instead, go out ministering far and wide helping to ‘do God’s work’ by bringing more people to Jesus. Yes, that’s a more noble thing to do - help someone else, rather than truly helping yourself.
If you want to live God’s Will, submit to your feelings allowing God to show you all He wants to show about yourself and your life through them. God leads us to the truth through our feelings - ALL our feelings. And God leads us to Themselves and Their Love through Truth. No truth - no love.
